Marquee heater sizing guide
Choosing the right heater for a marquee depends on the size of the structure, time of year, flooring, weather you have doors or not and expected outside temperature. As a general guide, the examples below show suitable heater options for common marquee sizes.
Small garden party marquees
3m x 6m to 6m x 9m
Recommended: EC22
Ideal for smaller gatherings. Doors and sidewalls help retain heat.
Medium marquee heating
6m wide to smaller 9m wide marquees
Recommended: EC32 / EC55 in winter
For colder months or larger guest numbers, upgrade to EC55.
Large marquee heating solutions
12m x 30m, 15m x 50m and larger
Recommended: Bespoke package
Multiple heaters, ducting and fuel tank options available.
Keeping a marquee warm in winter
Marquees can be warm and comfortable throughout winter when planned correctly. The size of the structure, time of year, flooring and expected outside temperature all affect heating requirements. We assess each booking individually and recommend a suitable heater setup to keep guests comfortable throughout the event.
For larger winter weddings and events, this may involve more powerful heaters or multiple units depending on the layout and conditions.
Correct heater sizing matters
Undersized heaters can struggle in colder weather. We recommend heating based on marquee size, season and event type.
Reducing drafts & heat loss
Entrance positions, open sides and frequent access points can affect warmth. We take layout into account when advising.
Flooring Improves Comfort
Hard flooring and carpet help reduce cold from the ground and improve overall comfort inside the marquee.
Evening Temperature Drops
Winter evenings often become colder quickly, so heating should be planned for daytime and night-time use.
